Rotterdam – The Hague Airport, 21 januari 2023 – In Nederland staan momenteel twaalf Pilatus PC-12’s ingeschreven. Nog niet al deze toestellen hebben we gezien. Vandaag kwam er een exemplaar bij in onze fotocollectie, de PH-CYP. Van die twaalf Nederlandse PC-12’s is er één wel een heel vers exemplaar; de PH-NGX PC-12/47E NGX met c/n 2210. En we hebben vernomen dat nummer dertien ook onderweg is (PH-BBA PC-12/47E NGX met c/n 2221).
PH-CYPrus
De PH-CYP is een Pilatus PC-12/47E met constructienummer 1687. Dit toestel is fabrieksnieuw afgeleverd en werd op 16 februari 2018 ingeschreven. De eigenaar is het op Cyprus gevestigde bedrijf SMT Aviation Ltd. Dit is de “luchtvaarttak” van SMT Shipping. De link met Cyprus is duidelijk verwerkt in de gekozen registratie. Als benodigde Nederlandse vertegenwoordiging voor een PH-geregistreerd vliegtuig met een buitenlandse eigenaar treedt de Nederlandse vestiging SMT Shipping B.V. uit Rotterdam op.
SMT Shipping bestaat sinds 1990 en is een toonaangevende en wereldwijde speler op gebied van bulk transport per schip. In Europa heeft het bedrijf, naast Nederland, ook vestiging in Polen Engeland en natuurlijk Cyprus.
Nederlandse PC-12’s
In totaal hebben er tot heden achttien PC-12’s een Nederlands kenmerk gehad. Op één na hebben alle inmiddels uitgeschreven toestellen een nieuw kenmerk in het buitenland gekregen. Alleen de PH-RUL is in 2009 verongelukt. Al vier maanden na aflevering ging het mis met dit toestel bij Weert, waarbij helaas twee slachtoffers te betreuren waren.
Populaire turboprop
De Pilatus PC-12 is het meest voorkomende turbinevliegtuig met propeller in Nederland. Er vliegen meer PC-12’s dan bijvoorbeeld Cessna 208 Caravan-varianten en ook de tweemotorige varianten zoals de Beech (Super) King Air zijn in de minderheid ten opzicht van deze populaire Zwitserse hardloper.

Weer een leuk artikel over deze fraaie bizprop. Er mist in het overzicht echter nog eentje: de PH-WMC PC12/45 c/n 378, ingeschreven van 14.6.2001 tot 22.3.2002 op naam van West Aviation I B.V.
Deze werd vervolgens HB-FPA, N378HH

Deze ochtend (30/01/2023) is HB-FJV geland op Budel, de registratie stond op een sticker. Dus de toekomstige PH-NGX is inmiddels in Nederland gearriveerd.
